16u Coach

Nico Marchio's journey in baseball has been impressive, starting from his early days in University Place, WA. He developed a love for the sport from a young age and quickly showcased his skills as an ace pitcher and speedster. His talent caught the attention of various baseball clubs, and he played for the Lakewood Baseball Club and later for the U.P. Vikings during his middle school years.

Moving on to high school, Nico continued to excel, becoming the lead-off batter and co-captain of the team at Curtis High School. He made a significant impact on the team's success, leading them to the playoffs and helping them establish a consistent presence in the postseason.

After high school, he had numerous opportunities to play baseball at the university level, but he decided to stay local and attend Saint Martin's University, where he majored in Management and Marketing and played as an outfielder for four years.

Following his playing career, Nico transitioned into coaching. He first served as an assistant coach for the Reality 18u team and eventually took over as the head coach, guiding them to multiple championships and a top 10 state finish. He also coached for All Things Baseball and achieved notable success with the Angels Premier team, winning the GSL Championship in 2022.

Additionally, Nico has coached various other teams, including the Stadium High School JV team and his alma mater, Curtis High School JV team. He also worked with the 14u TBC team, leading them to victory in the April Bash. Even at the middle school level, he found success, coaching at Mason Middle School and guiding them to a league championship with an undefeated record.

Beyond his local coaching experience, Nico has had the opportunity to coach national teams, such as the NW national team, participating in tournaments like the invitational in Minnesota and coaching in Las Vegas.

Aside from coaching, Nico also serves as a professional hitting and outfield instructor at the Mariners Training Facility in Tacoma, further showcasing his expertise in the sport.

Throughout his coaching career, Nico's dedication to the game and his players has been evident, and his focus on fundamentals and baserunning has been key to his coaching style and the incredible success he has achieved. His passion for baseball has undoubtedly played a significant role in shaping him into the successful coach he is today.
