Who I am and What I Value

Away from the field, I have been married to my wife (Anastasia) for 11 years and have one daughter (Mila).

I love watching sports (softball, baseball, football and hockey), traveling and spending time with my family in my free time. I have worked in IT support and IT management for over 25 years and my favorite part of my career is helping young people learn how to work the right way, learn how to work as a part of a team and how to figure out what they want to do within the IT industry long-term.

As a coach, I aim to develop well-rounded players and humans. This sport has an unlimited amount of value on and off the field, if used properly. I strive to help each player find the layers that apply to each of them. I view each player and team as a collection of puzzle pieces and I work develop those pieces on all levels. Player IQ, skill, speed, strength, grit, effort, finding strength in your teammates and embracing your role on the team can all be taught or developed if you are willing to keep showing up.

I place a strong emphasis on developing work ethic in my players, as well as understanding who you are and developing a plan for who you want to be as a player. I believe that if you keep showing up and working like something truly matters to you, there is no limit to what you can accomplish on or off the field.

I will always tell the truth when I interact with my players. I believe that honesty is a gift, because if I don't tell the truth about where they are, we can't make a realistic plan to get them where they want to go. Watching players learn to have fun embracing the work that it takes to be the best version of themselves and reach their goals, is one of the most fulfilling things in my life.
