Softball Program Director

Marki Creger-Zier brings elite playing experience, exceptional athletic achievement, and a deep connection to the South Puget Sound softball community to her role as Softball Program Director.

A Steilacoom native, Marki competed at the NCAA Division I level for the University of Washington Huskies. During her four-year career at UW, she appeared in 173 games, made 79 starts, and competed against some of the strongest programs in college softball. She finished her Husky career with a .295 batting average, a .373 on-base percentage, 87 runs scored, 61 hits, and 30 stolen bases. During her senior season, Marki batted .316, posted a .407 on-base percentage, scored 30 runs, and successfully stole 14 bases.

Known for her speed, athleticism, and defensive versatility, Marki contributed throughout the outfield and was originally recruited by Washington as a middle-infield prospect. Her ability to cover ground, create pressure on the bases, and contribute in multiple roles made her a valuable part of the Huskies’ program.

Before attending Washington, Marki was one of the most accomplished multi-sport athletes in Steilacoom High School history. As a pitcher and infielder, she earned First-Team All-State honors twice and was named First-Team All-Nisqually League during each of her first three high school seasons. She was selected as the Nisqually League Most Valuable Player as a sophomore and helped lead Steilacoom to three league championships and consecutive fifth-place finishes at the state tournament.

As a freshman, Marki led the league with an extraordinary .597 batting average and 49 stolen bases. In the circle, she threw a no-hitter and recorded a remarkable 0.23 ERA. She again led the league in batting average, on-base percentage, and stolen bases during her sophomore season, earning league MVP and Tacoma News Tribune All-Area recognition.

Marki was also an outstanding cross-country and basketball athlete. She placed fourth at the state cross-country meet as a freshman and sixth as a sophomore, and she earned Second-Team All-Nisqually League honors in basketball. In addition to her athletic achievements, she earned the league’s Scholar-Athlete Award twice while maintaining a 3.5 GPA.

As Softball Program Director, Marki uses her Division I experience, competitive background, and passion for player development to help build a complete softball program. She is committed to developing technically skilled, confident, disciplined athletes while creating an environment in which young women feel supported, challenged, and proud to represent Tacoma Softball Club.
