Dan Huteson
13U Premier Coach

Dan Huteson

Coach Huteson has been involved in baseball for most of his life, beginning his playing journey at the age of five with Federal Way National Little League, where he played through age 16. A Federal Way native, he attended Lakota Junior High and Decatur High School before graduating from Highline Community College. During his playing years, he played catcher, second base, and outfield, while also participating in football and wrestling throughout junior high and high school.

With 11 years of coaching experience, Coach Huteson has dedicated himself to developing young athletes through baseball and other youth sports. His baseball coaching background includes Little League, Select Baseball with Prospect U, and Tacoma Baseball Club (TBC). He is currently the Team Manager and Head Coach of the 13U TBC Huteson Premier team, a role he began at the 11U level. This marks his fourth year leading the Huteson team. In addition to baseball, he has coached basketball, flag football, and soccer.

Throughout his coaching career, Coach Huteson has helped numerous players develop their skills, confidence, and love for the game. His proudest accomplishments include coaching teams to multiple first-place finishes and leading a Little League team to an undefeated 23–0 season. One of the most meaningful experiences of his baseball journey has been coaching a group of Little League players for four years or longer and working alongside fellow coaches to help keep the team together. That commitment helped create an opportunity for six of his players to represent the City of Tacoma at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Being in Williamsport to cheer those players on remains one of the biggest highlights of his baseball career.

For Coach Huteson, coaching is about much more than baseball. It is about showing up every day, demonstrating commitment and love through the game, and making sure every player knows they have someone in their corner. He strives to create an environment where players feel supported, challenged, and encouraged to grow, both as athletes and as people. He believes that the relationships built through sports, along with the lessons of teamwork, accountability, perseverance, and commitment, can have a lasting impact long after a player's time on the field has ended.

Away from the baseball field, Coach Huteson has built a career spanning more than 25 years across multiple industries. He has spent just over 10 years at DocuSign as a Principal Onboarding Consultant, following more than 15 years in the banking industry and an earlier 10-year career at See's Candies. His professional experience reflects a long-standing commitment to helping people, building relationships, and guiding others through important processes.

Family is at the center of Coach Huteson's life. He and his wife Kristen have two sons, Max, 16, and Smith, 13. Their family also includes three cats—Oliver, Charlie, and Sushi—and their German Shepherd, Leroy. The values he brings to coaching are the same ones he values at home: showing up for others, being dependable, and making sure the people around him know they are loved and supported.

As the manager of the 13U TBC Huteson Premier team, Coach Huteson hopes to help every player become not only a better baseball player, but also a better teammate and person. His greatest measure of success is knowing that his players feel supported, understand the value of commitment, and leave the game knowing they will always be supported.
